Meet the Principal
Jennifer Holm, Principal
Jenny Holm is honored to continue to serve the Discovery community. She has served District 742 for 12 years and has worked in education for over 25 years. This is her sixth year as an administrator at Discovery. Her past experience includes a classroom teacher, reading specialist, interventionist, and academic coach.
Holm earned her bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin - River Falls in elementary education. She earned her K-12 reading license from St. Cloud State University. She also earned her master’s degree and principal license from St. Cloud State.
Holm feels Discovery Community School is a unique and incredible place to work and learn. She is proud of the diverse and welcoming community at Discovery. She values all cultures and family backgrounds and is passionate about finding the strengths and potential in every student. She prioritizes equity for Discovery's students and families.
Stephanie Skaalerud, Interim Assistant Principal
Stephanie Skaalerud is excited and honored to be serving Discovery Community School as interim assistant principal. She has served the St. Cloud Area School District since 2013 in many different roles. After getting her bachelor's degree in elementary education, Skaalerud has worked as a classroom teacher, grade level lead and academic coach. She received her master of education from St. Mary's University and went on to complete her K-12 educational leadership from Concordia University.
Skaalerud resides in the St. Cloud area school district with her husband and four children. She looks forward to building meaningful relationships with students, staff and community members of Discovery Community School.
